Event Summary

Kosal Kreeda 2025, a mega Sports event spanning over two days, 11th & 12th January 2025 has been successfully completed on the Kosal Kreeda grounds in Arana Grama Panchayat of Jagatsinghpur district in Odisha. More than 400 athletes are participated from about 25 Schools and many far-off places. Sports events were designed for girls & boys in the category of 100 metres, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m and 5000m also long jump, High jump, Sack race, rope climbing, Relay race also carried out. All winners were awarded Shields/Trophies and Mini Marathon winners as well as Champions in each category were given cash prizes.

The event was interspersed with motivation by esteemed dignitaries from various fields.

The Games were inaugurated by Mr Subhas Chandra Choudhury, Chief Commissioner of Customs and Mrs. Singh, Sarpanch, Arana Grama panchayat. Retd. Mr Bhakta Ballav Das, Working President of Odisha Football Association, Mr Rajendra Prasad Singh, Former Player, India Football team, Mr Sailendra Prasanna Burma, Former Athletic Coach, Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar inspired the athletes with their presence.

Air Comd. Arabinda Mohanty provided tips to students for success in joining armed forces.

International Marathon Runner Dr Vivek Ranjan Tripathy motivated students to dream and make it real too.

Hocky India team player, Mr. Ranjan Das, Odisha Football team former Capt. Narendranath Sahoo set a higher goal for the players.

SHRADDHA FOUNDATION

Capt. Kamal Kant Choudhury, President, Shraddha Foundation, who has conceptualised & visualised the Kosal Kreeda as an initiative for rural youth empowerment, addressed the gathering. He elaborated the objectives of Kosal Kreeda as Empowerment of Rural boys & girls through Physical Fitness training, education, counselling & career guidance leading to employment in Armed Services, Paramilitary forces, Railways, Odisha Police etc. Ten students have secured jobs till date, others are waiting in the wings. Six students have got employment in the private sector too.

During the previous year, Kosal Kreeda has built a 20 beds hostel for students, A state of art Smart Class Room is ready for use by students.

The event was conducted by Ex Army person Sanjay Sahoo, active Physical Education Teacher Mohamed Asique and ably headed by retired Pradhan Guruji & columnist Shri Pradipta Acharya. Shri Abhas Choudhury Chaiman of Kosal Kreeda raised vote of thanks. The concluding ceremony witnessed music & dance of joy by the surcharged participants.
